I'm slowly catching back up via your blog.  Glad it's there, just for that.  Makes catching up very easy when there's no bar or pub or coffee shop to meet at.

How was amazon for you? by coryking (2.00 / 0) #19 Fri Aug 31, 2007 at 04:29:20 PM EST
I've heard a lot of horror stories about that place...

The work was great by fluffy (4.00 / 1) #20 Sat Sep 01, 2007 at 02:16:28 PM EST
The management was utterly ridiculous. We could never get time to refactor, so in the end the system was a big collection of hacks and workarounds to previous design flaws because "we're launching in a few weeks." This continued for about two years before I quit. Also, inter-team communication always devolved into shouting matches due to people not wanting to take responsibility for things that were their responsibility. And so on. I could rant for a long time about it except that I've already ranted about it so much that I've decided it's best to just move on.

One full year just to say, "I'm living in San Francisco now" and that's it? You and about 744,041 other people live there. Surely you have done something more interesting and meaningful than that.

a welcome fluffy meet sounds good. i can't propose a date without first checking with jared, though.

Since that is a week out I don't yet have plans. I am only managing weeks out at a time.
